    Hey Dan,
Just wanted to say ありがとう for keeping me entertained during my drive home from work and sometimes while I mow my lawn. Your podcast is awesome and I love listening to your adventures. Kyoto sounds beautiful. Keep up the good work!

  • Dan Savage:

    Ben,
Thank you for commenting and letting me know someone is out there! It’s very encouraging to hear from people and find out there are others besides myself listening to these little recordings.
To be honest, this early in the podcast, I’ve received so few contacts from people, it’s hard to gauge if more than 1 or 2 people are listening.
I “really” appreciate your kind words and taking the time to write.

  • “Now that sounds like a pigeon…”

That’s a pretty classic way to start an episode. Well done sir!

This was quite an entertaining episode. I particularly enjoyed the segment about the 100 yen shop.

As one who has moved around Japan several times over the past three years, I have quite a few fond memories walking the aisles of those stores. It seems as though every time I come to a transition point in my life, I end up doing quite a bit of shopping at the 100 yen shops and they’ve certainly been a life saver on many occasions.

Keep up the good work Dan!

  • Dan Savage:

I’m still relying on the 100 Yen Shops. Always something handy to be found there. I just bought some more towels and wash clothes. The towels may not be as big and thick as the ones I use back in the states, but they get the job done and they only cost 100 yen! :-)
